I'm sorry to hear about this. I admire your restraint Danny. I'd have a hard time witnessing that without retaliating in similar fashion. I hope your girls are okay and hope you and your wife can get some peace of mind soon.

I love the cartoons you made - great stuff! Of course this is an amazing list of resources as well. I like Danielle's idea of transplanting you here, but I think we'd be smarter to transplant ourselves over to you :)

Ha, ha! Love it. It'd be nice if people in our country could advance beyond a 4th grade vocabulary wouldn't it? It drives me crazy how these words/labels are thrown around. One I want to see which is much more realistic: Instead of liberal, conservative, Democrat and Republican, can we just call them Corporate Puppets because no matter their political affiliation, that's what they are.

I was able to meet Rodrick in person on a recent trip to visit my parents in Florida. Besides being an incredibly charismatic and likable guy, his blog offers a lot of hope to dads who are fighting for their kids. I think that's at least one explanation for higher male numbers in his readership.

Wow Ron, I'm glad to hear about your consulting gig. You've worked hard to get there and you're a good example for other dads looking to use their blog as a platform to employment/money. I don't have the time to engage as I used to. I'm not at least a 25/hr. week WAHD as well as a SAHD. My Book Dads blog has been the platform which has led to work/money for me, not my "dad blog." I've gotten gigs building websites for authors who in turn have recommended me to others for web design stuff.

Anyways, glad to hear of your successes.

I appreciate your passion on this issue, and sure dialogue is great - when there's actual dialogue. Unfortunately you've severely hurt any credibility you may have had by not engaging, but instead getting on a soapbox preaching about all of YOUR experience and all of YOUR work and all of the research YOU have read. Not to mention you make an awful lot of assumptions about each person in your response to them, even commenting about how John must think Dads should breastfeed when no mention or hint of breastfeeding was mentioned. Then you follow that up with a comment about dad blogs being myopic. I don't blame John for taking offense and I think many of the other dads did as well.

In my experience, the so-called "myopic" dadblogosphere is much more interested in actually discussing their day-to-day experiences as a father and looking for ways to stretch themselves beyond the limits of the boxes our society has put them in. For lots of reasons, many men (possibly yourself) find that very threatening. I'll leave you to ponder why that might be the case.

Myopic? Dude, that's a low blow isn't it?

I guess I'm missing something because both your comments have only been full of sweeping generalizations about gender roles based on a traditional and dare I say, Christian mindset. I guess I need to read more "fatherhood experts" instead of parenting based on my own values.

Excellent point Will. It is always interesting to see who funds the study.
