You are living a life those of us with modern conveniences take for granted. The closest I can come to relating to it was the summers we went camping with our babies & a tent while our suburban friends went to the Bahamas & country clubs. We take for granting comforts until we don't have them or in your case learn to appreciate what we hhave & can do with what we have. Sounds like your way is harder yet simpler. Pretty amazing.

People need to hear that what you have already accomplished and plan to acceomplish is doable. Years ago having debt from student loans wasnt bad because the amounts were manageable, jobs were plentiful & it seemed doable to pay them off in reasonable toime frame. Not so today.
Fortunately in my 2nd marriage of past 15 years we live within our retiree funds & have no debt. But both of us know what it was like living above means to raise families, etc. Its so good to not have this worry & to be on the same page. Good luck to all who take the steps to be dbt free.
