Wow, this is a tough one. I would probably spring for bibles including G.K Chesterton, Henri Nouwen, Benedict of Nursia, and Mother Teresa. All of those have amazing writings to draw upon.

Great review, Amy! I grew up with Steven Curtis Chapman's music too and I was so devastated for them when they lost their daughter. I saw this in the bookstore the other day and I was intrigued by it. I will definitely have to check it out.

Great post, Amy! Girls need a book like this in today's culture and to ban it would be a horrific injustice.

Hi Amy! I'm a first time commenter and long time reader. I love your blog!

I love faith memoirs. It is really inspiring to see how one person's life can be changed by faith or their struggle with it. I'm currently reading The Seven Storey Mountain by Thomas Merton and it is beautiful. My other favorites are Girl Meets God by Lauren Winner, The Long Loneliness by Dorothy Day, My Life with the Saints by James Martin, Traveling Mercies by Anne Lamott, Stalking the Divine by Kristen Ohlson, and The Cloister Walk by Kathleen Norris. I just reviewed The Cloister Walk on my new blog, Bookin' Down South http://booksdownsouth.wordpress.com/.

Keep up the great work!
