I'm woefully behind (like, A. Ham + Mulligan in college behind) and won't make it to a post this week, but I agree with all of this. Totally glad we're doing a readalong...I had been reading the e-book while waiting for my paper copy to show up and felt a little faint when the brick arrived.

Great to see you sharing so much (and I love that today has prompted so much of it!). I've always been reluctant to get too personal on my blog, too. It started because I was teaching and really couldn't share much, but now that I'm no longer in that position it's been a hard habit to break. It may be time!

I heard that they're doing a re-release of Grad Budapest Hotel, so you might catch it - it's also on HBO right now if you have that! My husband and I usually try to catch all the movies in the run up and I think we did them all this year, except American Sniper, which is just not our cup of tea. I think your list is divided well, though I might shift Whiplash up - it ended up being one of my favorites!

I would think so, as long as the narrator wasn't super dry with the reading (which seems like it can happen sometimes with nonfiction).

Oh, you have some great reading ahead of you! I'm especially interested in seeing what you think of The Sparrow and Severed, which I really loved. I like that you made a list to help guide you, because (like Emily said) it can be difficult to try to find books in the middle of your reading year.

I like that you added not feeling guilty about your resolutions to your list :) I think that's one that's a little too easy to overlook sometimes! Love the look of your spreadsheet!

It seems like your new design went great for you and you'd be able to give good advice on that! Balancing social media (all of the different things to keep up with/choose from) can be pretty tricky to navigate at first, too.

I started a book club with a few friends just about two years ago and it's been so fantastic. We make it a point to avoid the typical book club stuff, too, and usually have really great conversations. I hope you end up finding a few great readers to pair up with!

Thanks for sharing the Book Blogger Top Picks link! It was really fun to see what ended up being such a great list.

Totally agree on all of these, especially commenting. I usually don't mind if people leave a link on my comments either since the comment system I use (Disqus) doesn't link directly to your blog from your username, but I do appreciate meaningful comments. It's pretty obvious when people haven't read the post or are only commenting because they're trying to drive traffic to their own blog and that gets frustrating. I try to live by that rule and read far more posts than I actually comment on because I try to wait until I have something useful to add.

Love seeing these blogging posts!

It definitely feels like blogging in a vacuum for a little while, but it sounds like you have a good plan and are on the right path. I think you'll feel a few moments where things finally click and it's great! But there are always things to learn and finding bloggers that have been around longer (I'm still just at year two, so I have plenty of people to look toward, too!) is a great way to get advice.
