We always put gifts under the tree before Christmas, so this wouldn't be an issue with our family. Santa still comes on Christmas Eve (and I work very hard to wrap "Santa's" gifts in a different wrapping paper...). I could see it upsetting parents if the gifts only arrived on Christmas Morning, but otherwise no I don't see any reason for this to upset them.

Oh my, I really loved this post. Mostly because I love the idea of a composting toilet that doesn't use water or electricity. Although now I know that this is NOT the toilet for me ;) .

Thank you so much for sharing.

LOL I love this. I love having a clean house, but don't always get around to cleaning it. There are a lot of other things on my list, and somehow cleaning just gets pushed to the bottom of the list. Because of this I love when people come over, as it forces me to move the cleaning to the top of the list. I feel better when the house is clean, and I'm happy to have people in when it is. It's not that I'm perfect and my house is far from it. I'm definitely not trying to shame anyone by cleaning it. I have a cat and a dog, both of whom like to sleep on the couch and chairs. This mean's that there is a lot of hair on the furniture, and I don't want my guests to sit on the couch only to get up with pet hair all over their clothing. It's called being hospitable. I've been to friends places that don't clean up before you come over and been scared to sit on the furniture as I didn't know what was going to get stuck to my clothing.
It's one thing if you stop by unannounced, but if you take the time to make plans with someone, then yes, I do expect them to have put a little bit of effort into cleaning up for me. To me it's showing me that you value me as a person.
It's one thing to eat in your mess, it's a completely different thing to eat in someone else's mess.

After reading your post on ending each day no further behind, I'm thinking that I need to sit down and make a list of what is not working in my life, and think of what things I could do to improve it.
I too get lazy and let things build up, and I absolutely need to stay on top of things as they come up.
As for focusing on one thing at a time, lol, I'm currently watching TV while reading/commenting on other blog posts... I often take notes on the post so that when I do comment, I don't mix what I read with the show I was watching at the time. And one of the reasons I love my crock pot is because it allows me to multi task.
That being said, I definitely have times where I jump from project to project without finishing, because of this I really do need to learn to focus on one thing at a time, until completion.
I can't wait until next weeks habit.

Wow September 11th, it is a day I will never forget.
First, I don't listen to the news very often, so I found out about it at work. A customer came up to me and told me what was happening. He was not very impressed with my response. You see at the same time that the twin towers came down, my sister was delivering two identical twin boys.
And so I feel for the families who lost their loved ones, and I understand the sense of loss that most people feel. I however did not truly begin to realize the full impact of the twin towers coming down until a couple of months later when they started changing the rules for entering the USA.
I am not American and although I understand the devastation and loss that most people feel when they think of September 11, 2001, for me it is a day to celebrate the birth of two of the most incredible boys I have had the pleasure to know.

Oh you are so right. It's hard to stay motivated through out the month. I used to have a rule that if it wasn't on my list, I didn't buy it, but then this past summer, my life got super busy and the list thing just kind of went out the window.
Working on getting back on track, and keeping my motivation through out the month.

Oh these look good. My Grandmother used to make Popcorn Balls every year for Halloween, so I'm going to have to try these :) especially for Halloween.

Oh I really like this idea! I really dislike those family dinners where all you do is talk about your day, some how it always ends up with someone venting about what a horrible day they had, completely takes the joy out of sitting down as a family. This sounds like so much more fun. Thanks for sharing, and congratulations on getting and estimated date :)

I love this list, and it is so true. For #4 Find Out Your Style - mine would be in town. I live in the country and the sides of the road are very uneven, with pot holes and broken pavement. I used to run around here (great seiner y and didn't have to drive anywhere, and no traffic) but I ended up fracturing my foot... so it's nice paved roads for me ;)
