Set against the backdrop of the Great Depression, the fantasy adventure, THE GOLDEN CITY OF DOUBLOON is an exciting, action-filled journey of self-discovery in which our hero, Japeth Finian, and his friends battle disasters both natural and unnatural as they travel through the parched, poverty-stricken countryside to the city of Doubloon, “the oasis of the Midwest” in search of a cure for the mysterious affliction that plagues their peaceful, small town. Joining the courageous but self-doubting Japeth in his quest are his best friend, the intrepid and noble Crowell and his sister Lucinda whom Japeth secretly loves, Crowell’s loyal but scatterbrained cousin Lon, and Abra, Japeth’s tomboyish younger sister who may possess secret powers.
