What an interesting discussion! I personally see value in both approaches. A critical, objective review can inform potential readers about the themes, plot etc. It is an intellectual exercise. A review which details the reading experience is more personal and subjective and gives an idea to the reader as to what can be expected from the book emotionally. I try to maintain a balance between the two in my reviews.

I have toadmit that this has been on my list of books to be read sometime. But your post convinces me that I need I get it soon. 😊
