I think that is a very good reflection ... asking why we do what we do and seeking God's truth in it. The Holy Spirit is prompting many hearts to examine what is really going on in the churches ... it is the time to seek truth and put God's word above all else.

So important isn't it? Our motive? In whatever we do, our motive should be ultimately to love. Your post reminded me of the Pharisees ... they knew scripture ... but they knew it and memorized it for the wrong reasons. Same with us, we have to come to the Bible with the right heart for it to be a powerful tool in our lives ... a right desirious to know God and grow in love with Him.

Obeying the rules is a funny thing -- sometimes rules set by man entrap people, but rules set by God free them. Every rule of God comes down to love. Is it loving to take what isn't yours? Would you want someone to do that to you? There is the answer.

Incredible inspiration!! My husband showed me this last week. It is tremendous. Reminds me of the verse Ephesians 3:20 - "Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,"

We put so many limits on ourselves that keep us from being who God created us to be. This young man is a wonderful reminder of what is possible.

It is often the most simple moments that can touch us the deepest. How much truth there is in that verse. He is all we need - when we fully understand that - He wil be all we want.

I too have been learning on a deeper level what it means to live and act in God's strength - it is a VERY important lesson to learn because it is tremendously freeing and empowering - b/c in Him and through Him we can do far more than we ever could on our own.

I agree other people are important for support and encouragement - but as you are learning this important lesson - don't look to them to be your source of strength and miss out on the opportunity to truly learn to walk in God's strength. We only learn when we are taken to the point of needing Him so desparately. It is easy when we are feeling this "weakness" to start relying too heavily on others because they are with us. But we need a solid foundation of trusting in God's strength - if that makes sense. It is about a balance. God's strength first, and support of others on top of that. That creates an incredible foundation in our lives.

What an important truth - one God has been laying heavily upon my heart and as I read other's blogs - other's hearts as well - perhaps we are tired of a world where love (the love of God, not man) has grown cold. We've gotten so wrapped up in our "tasks" even and especially in the church system - that we've left no time to truly take time to love one another. Thanks for the reminder - to slow down and make ourselves available to love at all times.

Cont . . . for years I use to try to do this process on my own - but honestly I found it exhausting and I never got very far. But when I let go of me doing it - and simply abided in Him and sought Him - the things really started to change - without me carrying the burden.

2 Corin. 10:5b bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Matthew 11:29-30 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light."

And what a grea truth -- our thoughts and emotions are very powerful - left to run wild they create a lot of havoc in our lives.

There is a lot of truth in this post . . . I find that God does a similar process in me -- He reconstructs my thoughts & perspectives as I daily abide in His Word. He shows me where my thinking is off, how I've been following false truths & the affects that has on my life. Then He shows me the right way then He works it out in me. The impact has been tremendous in my life. . . .

What a wonderful reminder about - taking time to love . . .that also has been the lesson on my heart for awhile. God has slowed down my life and lead me to not be so busy that I don't have time for what is most important to Him and should be to me - those around me (even in the grocery store). It is so easy to get on our task list and just plow through the day unaware of those needs around us. We aren't aware but also when we are in that state - people are less likely to ask for the help they need.

We need to slow down - not be so busy - so we can have the ears to hear the Spirit leading us moment by moment.
