I did a huge book purge three years ago when we moved into our condo (along with purging everything else we’d collected over nearly 40 years in the same place). We put in a wall of bookshelves, and I was so excited to have empty spaces!
Naturally, a lot of those have filled up, but since that big move I’ve made it a habit to go through clothes, housewares, and books every season and donate what I feel I can live without. I get a lot of books from the library, but the books I buy are the ones I know I’ll want to keep. I do re-read books quite often, so I keep that in mind when I’m purchasing as well.
It’s a never ending battle, that’s for sure!

Don’t you love when those fortune cookies are so spot-on? So when can we expect your book??

Your dog is adorable. I bet he keeps you plenty busy!

Congratulations, Florinda! I started blogging in March of 2006, and though I don’t write about books exclusively, I’ve enjoyed many of the same bookish benefits as you have. Blogging is a wonderful way to meet new authors and new creative friends, and it led me to write and publish a book of my own which has been just an amazingly satisfying experience.

Hoping March brings good health for your whole family, Florida! I always feel a renewed spirit in March (it’s my birthday month too, which help!), but it seems as if spring can’t be too far away.

The Book Blogger Buddy system sounds like a great idea, too!

Visting from The Sunday Salon, and I’m so sorry to hear this news. Cancer treatment and recovery has come a long way in the past decade, so try and take heart. It sounds like your stepdaughter is in very good hands, and has a very encouraging prognosis.

Never underestimate the power of sleep to help your body rejuvenate. I'm glad you're feeling better, and hope the days ahead continue to be brighter.
Books always help me get through the hard times.

I think you’ve done a wonderful job clarifying these this dilemma. As Beth said, there is a time and place for criticism, and it should never be mean spirited.

I’m always about highlighting the positive and shunning the negative as much as possible, so it’s not surprising that I choose to write mostly about the books I enjoy rather than the ones I do not. Within the book blogging community we get to know those readers whose taste we trust, and so look to them for recommendations but also for books that we might wish to approach more carefully!

Such a lovely review, and you’ve captured the magic that is Beth, all the way around :)

As always with Beth’s books, I will be excited to get this one in my hands!!

One of my very first memories is of standing at the magazine stand in our local drugstore, my nose stuck inside the pages of Life magazine, sniffing that delicious combination of slick paper and fresh ink. The next most vivid is of my first time inside our local library, and the wonderful smell of hundreds of books of various ages.

Yes, I am a booksniffer too.

What a lovely post!

It's just gladdens my heart to see a community at work doing what a community of like minded believers should do :)

Beth is a marvelous writer and has the unique ability to touch something deep in the readers heart. It's especially fitting that all this heart-felt admiration and love should be shown to her.
