I don't respond to those annoying bings and pings.

I look at it as another type of slavery, really.

And yet.

I'd be lost without my GPS.

Blessing and a curse, indeed.

Oh yes. Haven't we all had days like this. Or maybe we haven't. But I know I have. We've had to push through some dark days, huh? Stay strong.

Maybe you should be offended. Maybe you could ask your sister to stop using that language.

The reaction you are getting to this post speaks to the division that still exists in this country. People are always defensive when they feel they are being called out for being "wrong." Being called out for bad behavior makes us uncomfortable, but -- if we are big enough to really look at it -- it can be an opportunity for people to grow, maybe even change. You've touched on many of the places where people of different races (and religions) don't necessarily see eye to eye. I think it's important to squirm in our own discomfort once in a while. Necessary growing pains for a country still trying to figure it out.

Tyler: I love you so much! So glad to hear your broadcast. I can't believe these guys WANTED to reveal all this stuff. Date one is waaaaay too early to introduce your warts into the romance. Ewwww.

Oh Greta! I would love the journal on becoming. I don't even have a preference for color. I just think it would be so special. I think I'm scared of becoming all I can be. I have things I want to do, things I want to say. But I'm scared.

Hi Ruchi! I came back to see if there were more comments, and *smile* I saw that you liked my thoughts. YOU liked MY thoughts? Like you, I'm an extrovert. I have no trouble ignoring my phone when I'm engaged with friends in person. But during the down time? Yes yes and yes! And now that I have a 13 year old who needs me a whole lot less? Well, I'm figuring out my social media diet. I basically check 3x a day for 20 minutes at a time. I'm starting to wonder if some of this is generational. I'm 45. I don't seem to have this compulsion to check my phone that others feel.

It occurs to me that men have been known to sit in bathrooms for extended periods of time, reading newspapers and no one ever questions this behavior. Why do we question the fact that women bring phones into the bathroom to cyber-connect with others while simultaneously taking a break? We're multi-tasking! ;)
