A very moving post, Zilla. Thanks for the reminder. There are some times when the heart can't tell the difference between 10 years and 10 minutes.

Yes, Zilla. We need to speak out. People need to hear about these atrocities, the antiseptic power or sunlight must be directed at these atrocities, and we need to use the power of shame as Gandhi did. It is of primary importance that we do not lose the will and the power to stand up for ourselves, or we won't be of much use to anyone else.

@Zilla - We're only kidding ourselves if we think that attacks like this happen in secret with only one or two perps knowing that something is afoot. Cops "just happen" to leave their posts at just the right time. A car parks in a cordoned-off area and "nobody notices." Muslims mysteriously run toward (not away from) a violent explosion and their first reaction "just happens" to be to stomp on body parts while yelling "allahu akbar." Americans have got to stop treating refusal to recognize reality as some kind of virtue.

Yukio - Consider this. People walking out of church are caught in a bombing, with body parts flying 4 stories into the air and stuck to surrounding walls. Other people show up, not to offer help, but to cheer and to stomp on the body parts of the just-murdered friends, neighbors, and relatives of people who have just been praying for peace. Instantly, the reaction of these shocked and bereaved people, which includes throwing stones at their tormentors, is considered "a riot" by police and is reported as such in the international press. I note, however, that stomping on body parts in front of the shocked bereaved bombing survivors while yelling taunting insults and thanking "allah" for the deaths and injuries is not considered "a riot" by police and is not even reported in the international press. That's my education on what's going on in Egyptian "politics."

@Yukio - I wouldn't expect any president to ignore the deaths of innocent victims of this brutal massacre. However, any Muslims murdered in this attack were bystanders, not intended victims. That is a fact that can be stated without offending anyone. Example: "The attack on a church in Alexandria, Egypt killed 21 Christian worshipers and injured dozens more, as well as injuring a number of Muslims in the vicinity."

I do think a few things have changed in the West since the Crusades. But I don't regret the fact that Ferdinand finally managed to kick the Muslims out of Spain.

@Yeah, Yukio. Attacks on Christians by Muslims are always "politically motivated" and outrage on the part of Christians is generally "unfair."

How about the genius Orator-in-Chief--with his unlimited staff of advisors, hangers-on, departments, agencies, secretaries, committees, specialists, universities, codebreakers, and worshipers in the print media--stop in for a syntax check on his English language statements before incensing millions of people who aren't Muslim? According to Obama: "The attack on a church in Alexandria, Egypt caused 21 reported deaths and dozens of injured from both the Christian and Muslim communities." That's a fudged sentence designed to give the impression that dozens of Muslims were among the killed and injured. Geesh!

@Zilla - Thanks for the heads up on this!

A most important message, Zilla, and one that is almost entirely overlooked in the PC rush to make victims where none exist.
