I love this - in the totally family, sisterly, understandingy way. Makes me think about when my dad passed.

Makes me think of the time my son had the stomach flu... and he would vomit, and I said, "how you doing, kiddo?" and he would vomit, and in the middle of it say, "I'm doing good, Mom..." and then vomit again. He wasn't really doing good... he was pretty sick... and yet he was trying to put on this brave face but all the while, vomiting. I know that's a little different than what you have said here, but it makes me think what --I-- do when I'm on the downhill side of this thing... and that is... I put on a brave face and try to act like "I'm good" when I'm not. I push people away with that, "I'm good" and then turn away from them, and vomit... and then say it again... and then vomit.......... Well, that's part of my point but also some of my other point is, if they are real friends, they won't care if you are vomiting, in fact, they might hold back your hair, or get you a glass of water, or wipe your mouth.... /rambling off
