Wow! What a great space for learning. I don't have that much room for our schooling, and I am NOT as organized as you guys are. We do have the same love affair with books though. We use an online resource (Time4Learning) as our core curriculum and supplement with things my DD is interested in learning more about. We also supplement her math with Teaching Textbooks.

Best wishes on a fun and successful year of schooling.

I am going apple picking the first week of November. I am excited about it since I've never been before.Unlike Zach, I think I'll eat the apple pie!

Beautiful photographs of the day. Thanks for sharing them.

I have to have my DD try this. She is 14 and loves art. I think the challenge of creating with the egg shell will be fun for her. Our chickens are also brown egg layers. I see that they dyed beautifully for you. I will have to collect, wash, and dry some. Thanks for posting the pics of this one. You are a very talented photographer!

Love, love, love your pics! I especially like the frog, baby, and the curtain with the window frame showing as a cross.

What a great article. I too wish I had known all this before I began homeschooling. I think there would have been fewer tears and much less stress. I especially like this statement you made:

"If someone had said. “What you do does not matter as much as the spirit in which you do it,” I would have saved time and energy. Rather than trying to out-school the schools in my daughter’s first grade year, I would have spent more time laughing and playing with her, like we do now."

I started out much too serious! I have learned to lighten up through the years. Thanks for sharing what you learned.

Joyfully,
Jackie

I like your blog. My daughter, age 13, loves horses. She is begging me for one. I am not so sure about it. I realize they take lots of care and can be expensive. I see where you are going to review T4L. My daughter uses it and loves it. That is saying quite a bit since she HATES school. I look forward to reading your review.

Joyfully,
Jackie
