Whelp, now I'm crying. My Dad died a long time ago, and last week I went to an old friend's house and saw some sculptures that my dad had made on his shelf. One of them was of me. I hadn't seen my friend for 15 years and I'd never seen that sculpture. On the bottom was written "So you never forget her either." LOST MY SHIT.

Thanks. I guess the best thing is to remember people can be needlessly and unbelievably kind too... Gulp

Toasties. I just came back from Amsterdam where I visited some old friends. This was hot on the heels of Brexit and I was kind of hoping that I'd be so delighted to be back in the motherland that I'd be immediately prompted into moving back. However, when I was there one of my friends said he's regularly assaulted for being gay, and I actually got spat on by someone for holding hands with my (black) friend (I'm white). On my way home I read about all the racist incidents popping up in Manchester and elsewhere and now I'm double depressed, and clinging to the thought of my Toast tote arriving at some point in a distant, brighter future. Ugh.

This is interesting, britomartian.

I am also a bleeding-heart leftie (unite!) and I was kind of amazed that people I knew just sort of.. became slavish Corbyn worshippers. I get that for some people he is an amazing breath of fresh air but for someone to be treated like an actual god is quite staggering in the politically cynical and self-aware times.

Labour needs a leader who will unite the party if it's going to have any strength, which inevitably means someone more centrist than Corbyn. It's a shame, because his beliefs do resonate with people (and me) but I have to say I'm with you in thinking he's a bit of a zombie husk right now. What has he actually done?

People will slow to admire your beautiful, fast, shiny legs, and you will win at life, races, and everything.

Roll on body glitter! Was just coming to say that. It smelled so sweet too.. I remember adding it to my arms and collar bone and..shins, I think? Who doesn't need glittery shins.

This has literally been the high point of my day and I am going to cling to it like a slippery mermaid on a rock.

I just want to say how much I love your Feminist History posts. They are like a balm to my Brexit-angry soul.

Liana, your drawings are so good. They always crystallise something I didn't even know I was consciously feeling, and then - BAM. It me.
