Honestly what happened with "Magic in America" was much worse because of the cultural appropriation with skin-walkers as well as her ignoring the States' vast cultural differences.
Guess what Tumblr is saying today? That Cursed Child shares similarities with My Immortal, the infamously bad HP fanfiction. I'm not sure how true that is.

I can't host, but it would be really cool if you could come to the University of Miami Hurricon on April 4th or the Florida Supercon in July; my writer friend Cory and I will be at Supercon selling books.

The thing is that there would be so many holes and questions to answer, like how would Hermione handle having an adopted brother/relative that is adventurous and proud, as opposed to a friend. Also how would Harry flourish in an environment where he can actually ask questions and learn about himself. That could easily destroy some of the mystery in the books, since Harry by nurture doesn't ask questions.

It was probably for the best that JKR edited chapter one to hide all of the secrets, though one has to consider that she also had Hermione's parents originally find baby Harry (a cool AU that would be, if Harry and Hermione had been raised like brother and sister and Harry would be faced with having someone so irritably right about things and emotional). Still, I wonder if she'd ever release that, and I do kinda wish she hadn't made Snape flip-flop in our eyes in between books six and seven. Several people called that backstory during the hiatus before Order of the Phoenix, involving Lily.

Maybe; I do wonder about that, or if she wanted to subtly reveal that Harry no longer needed the guardians and parent figures from his childhood. It's hard to say if it was that or getting tired of the accent, lol.

I wonder what mysteries Fantastic Beasts will offer, given the original text was a school tome that delivered facts instead of plot. Though the cynical side of me asks why a new film with Harry Potter characters, and if Newt Scamander's story will be able to match up to the original series.
It's interesting, on Hagrid as a well-received character, that fans on Tumblr don't like the fact that Harry decided to name one of his children after Snape rather than after Rubeus, the man who rescued him from the Dursleys and gave him his first ever birthday cake and present. Though I wonder if Harry was doing the whole "dead person name" tradition, and thus Hagrid wasn't ignored. Albus Rubeus has quite a nice ring to it, though. Why does Hagrid get less focus as Harry grows up, relatively speaking, do you think?
