Thank you for that story, it was words I needed to hear. My husband is also a Mr. Steady silent type. He does say "I love you" often, perhaps more out of habbit, but little else and he doesn't open doors for me (and many other doesn't, but I wish he would) but your words are so true. I am thankful for what I do have. Adapting & contentment is a life-long growing process for me. ♥
