Good interview, Katie. I've always wondered how your day is spent. You're so productive, I thought you had a magic formula to add hours to the day beyond the usual 24. Turns out you're just organized and disciplined. Wow. Where was I when God was passing out those two assets?

That came out odd! I could've sworn I just wrote that first line once . . .

Cyberspace. Go figure.

Liberty, I knew you had a wild imagination, but, yowzah, girl!Liberty, I knew you had a wild imagination, but, yowzah, girl!

I must not have enough coffee in me yet, because in all the movies/books I can think of, the characters only *think* they're opposite. Actually they're too much alike, hence the source of their tension.

Anyway, fun post, fun analysis.

Lands, I understand about shift work! MSB once had the whacky hours your DH has, but now he just works 2nd shift. It's not too bad, but it's the primary reason we don't have a social life or attend any activities together. Good thing is, he's (slowly--very, very slowly) coming around to treating my chosen career seriously. :D

Dean Koontz's opener held that "in-your-face" twist that makes his work compelling. Great hook.

Terrific post, Lynnette!

How beautiful! I enjoyed the post you wrote for the blog group, but this one stole my heart. My last hospital stay involved a visit with the staff dietitian. She said yogurt would help with my disease, and cranberry juice would help to prevent kidney stones--something I've never had, but which occurs in folks with my condition.

When I got home, the fridge was stocked with strawberry yogurt and huge containers of Cran-Grape juice! That's how he shows me he loves me!

So many wonderful thoughts and quotes. Thanks for sharing them! Billy and I have the "It's a Wonderful Life" tradition, too. Wouldn't be Christmas without the reminder that everyone is valuable.

I love to tell stories in the Ronda Rich *Southern Women* style--quick tales intended to entertain or touch. A recent note from an elderly woman telling me I'd given her a delightful trip down memory lane will keep my heart warm for the week. But even though my first book is coming out next year, even though I hit on nine out of ten in your list (and both of Paul Chernoch's), even though I dedicate everything I write to Him, I still don't think He called me to write. Or maybe He has rescinded His calling and is planning something different for me. I just need to be patient until He lets me know what He has in mind.

You've given me much to think/pray about. Thanks, Mary.

Love this, Sally! Thirty years ago, Mom told me of being angry with Dad, and crying to God using the exact same words: "Why can't he . . . ?" "Why doesn't he . . . ?" and got the exact same response from Him. Not long ago, I was feeling sorry for myself about something MSB had done, and cried to God--and got the exact same response. I guess the response will always be the same: "First, get the beam out of your own eye . . ."
