Haven't tried Stranger Things yet, but it certainly seems everyone is watching it and this will be the perfect time of year.
I hope everything you read and watch is wonderfully perilous.

Wonderful to have you with us again this year. You've been doing it since year three, eh? Seems like both a long time and a blink of the eye. Time is odd.

Did you listen to the interview with the reader on the last novel, where he shared that he doesn't read ahead, his recorded narration is his first time through the book, so he experiences it fresh. Very cool.

I'll be interested to see what you think of Her Fearful Symmetry.
Thanks for taking part in RIP again this year. Looking forward to it myself maybe more than ever. I'm so in the mood for Autumn.

If you haven't grabbed The Butcher of Anderson Station you need to. It is about Fred and you will like it very much.
I'm planning on diving in to Caliban's War soon so that I can be ready to read Abaddon's Gate when it comes out in June.

That is funny, mostly because I've been there. A recent example of a naive character, but not one I necessarily wanted to slap, was Ellie Quin in the The Legend of Ellie Quin. She is very naive, but it fits the character as she grew up in an isolated rural community. And she makes the kind of mistakes that I as a parent cringe at. But I still really enjoyed her because I often felt she was making teenage-like decisions which, while they could be annoying, also made her seem like a real teenager.
I'm interested that despite this big issue you found with the main character that there was so much other goodness there that you are looking forward to the next book. It will be really interesting to see if the author makes different choices with the next book and/or if part of it is just a matter of her craft improving.
