I certainly agree that the side of the brain that seems to function most creatively must not be ignored in education. I define the creative experience as a learning experience, a way of finding out something rather than merely a means of self expression. It's a process of discovery. So to me, creativity means writing (or painting or …) what you don’t know. I also think we've done ourselves a disservice by relegating right-brain activity to separate arts classes, too many of which present students with few challenges beyond the development of skills. (I was a public school art teacher for 14 years; am still a visual artist as well as writer.) Keep up the good work!
