No heat for a month? Wowsers that's awful!

That's no fun living without central heating, I know some folks might thinks it's really expensive but it doesn't always have to be that way. In fact, when my broken central heating boiler decided to break I was really worried about the cost of a new one!

I heard that it's a good idea to get quotes, but after the prices I was getting plus some firms saying that they'd have to charge a fee just to come out and visit it was really bad. Then I was on google and I found a local firm (I'm from Chester) called STL Heating. I wasn't sure if they'd be expensive - but I went on the review page and they looked really good - so I called them up and they were really helpful. They said they could offer me a new boiler for under 15 a month !? So I thought "that'll do for me please!" and I've got them to come out and fit a vaillant one tomorrow !

Well I hope it's all sorted out now! Reminds me of when I had problems with my boiler, I had no end of silly quotes from lots of firms. In the end, I got some local quotes and ended up with STL Heating simply because they're price was much lower. They came out the next day and had the problem solved in less than 30 minutes - well good!

As for a gas leak - well I'd recommend a C02 alarm for starters. Still glad it's all sorted now, still that said I've never had any problems with the heating engineer I use from STL Heating. Whenever I need them they're out same day, the engineer always has a friendly, helpful attitude and does a good job with no mess and and never leaves me hanging around for hours. So I'd given them a go next time !

I got my new boiler recently, I really love it though because it looks neat and tidy plus it's dead quiet too and my home get's warmer a lot faster than it used to - so am still getting used to that. I guess I'm happier still because of the price, I mean I spent time getting quotes in and I ended-up getting my Vaillant boiler from STL Heating simply because they came out with the lowest price. So yeah quids in and happy warm too !!

I know getting a new boiler is necessary, expensive, and not very exciting - but it doesn't have to be that way. Sure for me I thought getting a new boiler was going to be very expensive and a lot of hassle, but that's why I got some quotes in first (I was shocked at how much British Gas wanted for a new boiler!) - after going through the quotes, I choose STL Heating as they came out best!

Hi there, glad your all sorted for now! If you're after changing that pesky boiler I'd go with some quotes (I almost got ripped off by Britsh Gas!). So yeah ring around some firms and see how you go.

I'd recommend missing local "one man bands" only because some of them sometimes aren't around when you have problems later on :-( - for me, our boiler was knackered and I really new I needed a new one but they looked well expensive. But, after getting quotes I got a good price from STL Heating, so hopefully this'll help you.
