I read a tip in Salazar's book that it can be quicker to go wide at a u-turn, rather than slow down and turn sharply around the cone. Depends on how fast you are going of course!
Best of luck for your race!

You'd better not visit my last post because it's about my half marathon nerves and might make you more nervous! It's on the same day as NYC too!
I drove part of the course I didn't know last week, and worried all week about the hills. This weekend I ran some of it, and I'm really glad I did because those 'hills' aren't so bad!

My yellow SportWatch did the same thing - moisture inside after a rainy run. Luckily it was still under guarantee and it was no problem to replace it and I now have a blue one - I think this is a newer model and hopefully they have fixed this issue. Otherwise I really like it as it is so easy to use and connects really quickly. I've just bought the Polar HRM to go with it and I'm having fun with that at the moment!

I purchased some dumbbells recently to help improve my upper body strength and I enjoy doing it so far.
Enjoy the Electric Run - it sounds a lot of fun. I never knew light up tutus existed!

Congratulations on your goals Amanda! My biggest accomplishment this year was starting running again after a 5 year gap. I've run a few trail races and plan on doing lots more as well as a half marathon next year - bring it on!

Best of Luck Amanda! It sounds like your training has gone well, so you can do it. Leave any doubts and buts you have at the start line because you won't need them at your sub-4hr finish line!

Love the story behind their beginning! They look like a great shoe and will be interesting to try. Plus, they look nice - always a plus!
I'm also liking your awesome Oakley tank!

I agree, jogger sounds a lot more casual, and runner a lot more serious about the sport.

Interestingly, in my city there is a running club called the Auckland Joggers Club. It was started by Arthur Lydiard in the early 60's and was the first running club in the world (the history is quite interesting: http://www.joggers.co.nz/history.html). Perhaps jogging was a more respected term back then, as we all know how seriously Lydiard took his running!

That course map looks so interesting, and I can see how a wrong turn was taken! It sounds like a lot of fun, and congratulations on finishing healthy!
