I have so much respect for people who can do this kind of work. I was an OnStar operator for a while and had a couple of emergency calls come through, and in both cases afterwards I had to leave my desk for half an hour and sit shaking in the lunchroom until I could pull myself together. I simply don't have the constitution for it. But I am so glad there are people out there who do.
