I really do hope you are right. I like him as a defender and believe he could be a great corner if he can learn to catch. I am willing to give him another season along with Henne.

I think slow is not doing what I said. Neither Ronnie or Ricky could dodge a tackling dummy last season. It was like they were playing flag football and if they were touched they fell down. They don't break tackles and need to be replaced. I know we can't have Larry Csonka back, but I want to see someone that can run, dodge, and bull their way to a first down. And Ricky has already burned bridges with the staff too, so it is Ronnie or our backups and I don't think Hilliard can pull the weight. I know little about the other backups we have.
I don't think they should trade up to get a quarterback. The Dolphins don't have extra picks to trade with and with the season in doubt a quarterback is not likely to help much this year. Either trade down to pick up a number two draft choice if possible or draft the best running back at fifteen, then take a qb with our third round pick. I would like to see Ponder play for the Fins if they can get him there.
Picking a quarterback in the first round is a dumb move. Labor negotiations are in court now and I doubt things will be ironed out til maybe the third preseason game was scheduled to be played. Even that would be a miracle knowing how lawyers operate. If the NFL had not locked out the players, negotiations could have continued but any quick settlement is gone now. No drafted qb is going to be ready to run an NFL team with no pre season games or camp so wait til next year. Henne may do well. He has a good arm and is very young yet. We do need another qb on the team and I hope they get Ponder in the third round.

Right now Henne is the only quarterback on the team, and the only one to know the new offense. Pigpen and Pennington will be gone thru FA. I think at best spring training is lost this year and maybe one or two exhibition games. Hopefully there will be a season though so I think they should sign a running back in the first, then pick the best qb left in the third. Ponder may be there then and I think he will work out well. I don't care who they sign in the draft, no one will beat out Henne for the qb position. So get over it Henne haters or cheer for another team this year.
