Oh no! I am sorry to hear about this. It is actually my worst nightmare. We have an 8-month-old and bought a 1938 Streamline Moderne little house. We had it tested for lead and many areas came up positive. As we are on a budget with reno projects, my husband did a lot of work himself (e.g. ripping out old sills, covering walls with paint). Most of what came out positive was the paint on doors, door frames, window sills and frames. So we had all the doors professionally stripped, husband ripped out the door frames, and we installed new wooden windows (one original set of double hungs remain, and those were stripped as well).
