I ended up gong with Disqus. I hated that I lost all of my comments that I had accumulated on SquareSpace but my site was relatively new so there weren't a ton of comments to be lost. I can't say that I LOVE disqus but it's much better than the SquareSpace default. Occasionally I start to ask myself if there's a better commenting system out there...I feel like there is but like you said, they all come with pros and cons. For now I'm sticking with Disqus. I feel that I'm bound to them because I don't want to lose all of my comments that I've accumulated since switching to Disqus. Feeling a little trapped :-<
