I love this pairing -- I am embarrassed to say I have both these books on my shelf and haven't read them, but now I am inspired. I loved Marra's A Constellation of Vital Phenomena.

Of course, blogging should be a pleasure, not a chore. I am mystified by bloggers who feel pressured to post multiple times per week. I post either once or twice per week, and I think that's more than enough. I would be worried I was annoying my subscribers if I sent something to their in-boxes more often than that. I must admit I've unsubscribed from blogs that post frequently. I don't want to hear someone's every thought. I want to read posts that are thoughtful and well-written, and I think that's what my readers want too. Newspaper columnists don't publish every day.
I love that story! I could swear that same woman was in the audience when I saw David Sedaris a few years ago. She asked almost exactly the same lame question. And yes, there is such a thing as a stupid question.
These are great tips for anyone who has to suffer being photographed! You have a wonderful blog and I am enjoying exploring it -- glad I discovered it via The Steadfast Reader.
