Oh I have been thinking about this all day today. It strikes me at random times. As I was unlocking the door coming home from the school run, I choked up. It just hit me. I am gutted for these two little girls. I am gutted for this heart broken father. I am gutted for this Mama who will never hold her little baby.
And I couldn't even bring myself to read the comments. I just knew what they would say. I didn't have it in me to process how people could cast such judgement, such nastiness, in the wake of such tragedy.
I feel helpless when I hear such sad stories. Because there is nothing I can do that will make anyone feel any less devastated.
So so so sad.

I would totally send you if I was a squillionaire! And if you happen to find a squillionaire to sponsor you, feel free to send them my way too. We could be the Aussie blogging duo ;)

Clever idea - heavy denim can be toooo much in Qld so I love this idea of a lighter option. My boy is a tad obsessed with one pair of shorts - they are Size 2 and he is now 5 years old! They started out as full length and now are they like AFL supertight shorts. But he loves them!!
He would be a Size 7 (in actual normal clothes lol).
Thanks Kate for the chance to win!

My oh my - what an awesome post. I think I nodded my little head off right through it!!! I, too, choose to share the happiness in my life. I don't deny the chaos and drama that exists in anyone's life, but I choose not to celebrate it in my life. I believe that what we put out, also comes back. So why would I choose to put out negativity?
I have also chosen to free myself fron the pressure of a schedule. I truly lost my mojo over Christmas because of the pressure - now I have let that go and I am actually enjoying writing again.
I love that we can be authentic without having to air our dirty laundry in public!

I'm a little shocked....sickened.... taken aback. I have never known much about Nuffnang, but I did know about the awards. And I just can't believe that this blog - this tripe - is apparently what we, as a blogging community, should aspire to.
I thank you for making us aware of the sort of bollocks that Nuffnang encourages and represents. It has given me a whole new perspective on these sorts of awards.
Well written - I could not possibly agree with you any more!

Oh Gemma - Christmas is when I let my inner bogan hang out!!! I love the colours, the mis-match, the chaos, the tinsel!! I LOVE it!! Your decorations look simply spectacular - just gorgeous. And your friends are so lucky to receive such beautiful and thoughtful gifts. I wonder if you'll ever be able to go back to Christmas Trees now???

Brilliant brilliant brilliant - what a clever and yet simple idea. I LOVE the Joy blocks, and the stockings are so pretty! Wonder if I can convince hubby to hang a shelf for me!

Love this Kate! Particularly love the whatevs and lactivist references - ROFL! I wish we could win medals - wouldn't that be fun! I love your all encompassing passion - a true feminist in every sense of the world. A big scoop of awesome coming your way!

These are brilliant catalogues!! Really well priced and surprisingly good quality. Mobilo is BRILLIANT!! And that wooden sorting box is exceptional - a very Montessori inspired learning tool. Thank you for sharing!
I don't know what Santa brings our children - that's between them and him - they write him a letter on Christmas Eve which is very cute, and he always happens to bring things that are "just right" ;)
I have major issues with present storage. I am seriously thinking of buying a lock for one of our cupboards, as hiding presents for four children is almost impossible, and I always forget some that are uncovered sometime the next year!
