Our study group and bookclub are a joy to me too...as well as getting to know other likeminded homeschool moms like yourself! Working my way through book 16 of the Iliad this evening. :)
There are other introverted pastor's wives who don't have a revolving front door. I can relate to the internal struggles you so eloquently posted here. For the past 17 years I have tried to walk that line between accepting the way God has wired me while also recognizing that He desires to grow and stretch me beyond my comfort zone. I pray you will experience freedom and blessing and peace on this journey. I pray these new challenges will not be burdensome, but that you'll experience God's encouragement, His Spirit guiding you only in His intentions for you. It's so easy to get weighed down with our own guilt and insecurities! We really need to chat more. :)
I love how you explained the notes you take as you pre read. I really need to start doing that!
I am planning to use Marsh's Story of Canada next year with my ten year old. Isn't it beautifully written? I have so enjoyed reading it for myself lately! Love it. I plan to have my 8 year old use Donalda Dickie's book next year since the passages are shorter and easier and she'll be able to do it as an independent read. I'm finding it quite the mental exercise though to work it all into the AO schedules. We'll see how it goes.
Great drawings! My kids love their YouTube channel. Their bedroom walls are covered with Star Wars and Minecraft drawings they did following the step by step instructions. It's amazing how good these drawings turn out! I love the little mice.
Love posts like this! Thanks for the inspiration and encouragement. It's nice to know we are not alone in the organized and beautiful chaos of homeschooling with little ones!
I'll have to check out that virtual tour! Thanks for the tip.
Sounds like a beautiful start to each day!
Ick!!! I am so glad we are away on vacation right now. Not sure I want to come home to this. NOT ready for winter yet! Tell me it melted as the day went on! :)
I can so relate to wanting to tick off all those boxes! So many times last year I rushed and stressed just to get it all done, losing sight of what was really important. I am trying so hard this year to be more gentle with the kids and relax...not stress over having to scale back the workload or schedule if necessary. Thanks for the encouragement! It's such a confirmation for me.
