I read this headline and thought "excuse me?!!" This is genius though! Such a clever idea. I am also a handbag addict and the idea of being able to do this with old trousers is enough to make me want to have a rummage in the wardrobe and get the sewing machine out.

I think my kids might finally think I have lost the plot if polished the banisters with a pair of Mr B's old pants but I like your thinking! Right behind you on the Slimming World membership but I figure by paying money I will stick to the diet because I dont want to waste the money, if that makes sense?

I really need to do that food one of not shopping for a week. We have an over flowing store cupboard and yet I still look in there and think "we have no food" and then go out and buy stuff. I love hte idea of some random meals as we eat it all up! Top tips, as always

That exercise of working out how long you have to work to afford something is a really powerful one isnt it? My son recently wanted to buy a new jacket but then he realised he would need to work for three days to pay for it and then it didnt seem so attractive.

I love the other points too, all well worth bearing in mind.

So many issues here. The first Miss Frugal has been ripped off. £5 for a loyalty card?! That sounds like a scam to me if the purchase she was making was only half that, I can't see how the £5 loyalty card would ever be worth anything. Secondly the repsonse on Twitter. They get too many to reply? Well employ more people then or outsource it! You can't use that as an excuse, I don't suppose the likes of Tesco only get a couple of tweets a day yet they seem to cope. And if this company are getting so many tweets, maybe they need to address why so many people are contacting them, are they all complaints? If so they really need to look at their business a bit more closely.

Thirdly the response from the CEO is shocking.

It all adds up to one holy cock up and I am so sorry that MIss Frugal got caught up in this. But at least she has learned that she can tell her mum things and her mum will get it sorted. And b that this is not right and that if she wants to say no, she can say no in future and not be afraid to stick to it.

Brilliant tips. We have three freezers, two in the garage that we never use and a new one in the kitchen that has only been there for a few months. Its just full of home made ice cream!! I really need to take on board all these tips and use it properly!
