I'm giving it something of a pass because I like the movie, but it sort of makes sense in context - he's a washed-up '80s star, she grew up listening to his music and is a bridge between him and Cora Corman. The part that makes it gross for me is that stupid subplot with her jackass professor - I have to skip that scene in the restaurant every time, it's the wooooorst - because it makes her seem like a dummy who always falls for emotionally unavailable Daddy-figures.
(Plus Andie MacDowell is older than Grant, and Sandra Bullock is only a few years younger, so...not that bad a track record?)
