Things are tough! Really tough! But, of course the optimist in me keeps pointing out excellent things in my life and that helps a little. The incandescent peach waiting for me in my lunch is certainly something to look forward to.

I'm job searching and so much of this process has been just... waiting. Passing time. And cultivating patience because there's nothing else to do. It's maddening and makes me feel like I'm wasting this precious time. I don't know what else to say, but I am so glad this space exists.

One of my favorite new experiences is hearing other people explain what they think certain emoji mean and the one I hear described most is the "grimacing" face. I've heard it described as like when you suck air through your teeth in a reaction like "ooh...yeah...not good". Or as something more like, "I'm grinning in the face of something that I've done wrong" plus nervousness?

I just love emoji so much. Thank you for this beautiful gem of an article.
