Very true. I have consciously tell myself to dial a number sometimes instead of text. And I have to make even more effort to stop chatting with my "neighbors" on facebook and just go over and see them. I would rather sit with a friend and say nothing than type empty words with them on instant message
Great post. I just got made fun of by 3 girls for wearing a scarf. They said it was metro and "gay." I was a little offended as I wear the scarf that was made for me nearly every day that it is below freezing. I am going to share this post with them! Not sure where they have been hiding, i know lots of non-metro dudes that wear scarfs.
I can make new friends easily, but I have a hard time taking those friendships from superficial to meaningful. I am learning more everyday that it is difficult to have deep friendships with lots of people. Jesus had about 13, and then only 3 of them were part of the "inner circle."
When I get frustrated I go buy a box of donuts...and eat them all
That girl is just upset because I turned her down.
In some cases, even dying your hair is not a good idea. What is so bad about having gray hair? Overall, I don't care what older people dress like. If an older woman decides to wear Uggs (furry boots), then fine. What I don't like is when an older person acts like a kid. For example, I don't want to hear an old person telling jokes that kids in my high school would tell. I also don't want to see older men at the gym hitting on all the young girls.
I can relate to this. I've been going through a transition. I always keep in the front of my mind what my first job is, and that is being obedient to the Lord. I do not need a specific job or a certain platform to do that. I have noticed tons of jobs and fields drying up. Accounting, health-care and music in Nashville are all changing. The first thing that needs to change is our desire to look for a job in order to make bank and live the "American Dream." The American Dream and the Gospel are in opposition.
All of my shirts are fitted and are wrinkle free (I just throw em in the dryer). I also buy flat fronted pants. Most guys that I see could easily get by wearing fitted shirts, but there are not nearly as many to choose from, so most men don't buy them...or they don't know they exist. Men need to invest more in their shoes. Not necessarily more money per pair, but more in the up-keep. Keep them shined and put "shoe trees" in them.
