Re: Star Wars. Clearly Han Solo fired first in the original. That's why people cheered when I saw it the first day it was originally released. John Nolte makes an excellent point, if STAR WARS is just a movie, why doesn't Lucas move on and make something new? He dwells in a franchise of rehashing, remakes and remarketing STAR WARS and INDIANA JONES. I can't wait for AMERICAN GRAFITTI, THE DEPENDS YEARS.

I think too much is made of this ad. Clearly this was meant as a pep talk for America during tough times by an American Icon. Whether it was meant to advocate four more years for Obama is maybe a little too open for interpretation, but I doubt it was the intention of Eastwood, especially since he - and Chrysler, have openly said not. Unfortunately the Obama administration is taking advantage of the inference and claiming that it is. Eastwood was just trying to lift America's spirits, not get Obama reelected.

Great rebuttle. I cannot think of one thing of consequence that I have seen Palin do that does not cause me to have great confidence in her. She is far smarter than those passing judgement over her, as she proved with the one nation tour. One seriously strong performance in a debate is all it takes to put her right where she needs to be and get Americans to take a second honest look at her.

Also, I think the American people might just be starting to see through the negative hype of the news media and start to pull for her instead. It is very possible that that pendulum will swing back in her favor right on time. Every time they try to pull her down like yapping dogs, she out-foxes them This is a substantial woman who would make a great President.

If a comedian tells a joke in the woods and nobody laughs, is he really a comedian?

Your five minutes are over, Titus, now it's back to open mic night at the Chuckles Comedy Room for you.

Bottom line, Liberalism is about feeling. Conservatism is about thinking.

“If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain.” Winston Churchill.

Hollywood is the land of Peter Pans. They never want to grow up. They never want to reexamine the beliefs they bought into in their youth because to do that would mean they are cannot stay young anymore.

I agree, and Mamet's evaluation of a 'herd' mentality is at full force these days. There really is some extremely well written television these, clever, witty, toughtful - unfortuantley some of the best written work is designed intentionally to lead the rest of the country into the worst possible direction. You call them lemmings, and I agree, but they are actually worse than lemmings because they are dragging the rest of us over the cliff with them whether we want to jump or not..

The 'herd' mentality that Mamet speaks of is the perfect analogy. So many artists, writers, directors, actors etc. like to think of themselves as thoughtful and enlightened, however take note that it is only in the rarest cases, like Mamet, Jon Voight, and the late Ron Silver that they turn their thoughtfulness inward and really question and reexamine the beliefs they've held since they were children, or college students. This look inward should be encouraged at at every turn. Ayn Rand used to use the phrase, 'Check your premisis.' As a way of saying reexamine your beliefs and the facts upon which they're based. Manet's done this, we have to challenge more people to do the same.

Hooray for Mamet! I've never understood how any artist could be a leftist. The natural progression of turning your art over to a leftist, socialist, collective is that eventually you will no longer control your work, the collective will. Because of the right's failure and retreat in pop cultural and education, the left has overwhelmingly coopted our culture. Since when did collectivist control of art become cool? The message has to go out: Liberty is cool. Freedom his hip. Inividual rights are awesome. Conservatives have to push our way back into into the arts and education and retake the cultural ground that has been lost over a sixty year retreat from the arts. Books, movies, television, theater; conservatives have to make their voices heard in their work and out of it. Thanks again to David Mamet for seeing the light.

John, Thank you so much for that article. I have never seen a political figure so viciously attacked. And I can remember back to Nixon. Even Nixon did not have his children attacked as Palin does. These despicable cockroaches, like Andrew Sullivan, have to have the light shined on them at every opportunity as you have done. Keep shining the light and run them back into their holes.

All you have to do is listen closely to liberals, and watch what they do, to see that liberals are by far the most insidious racists in the world today. They express their racism every day through their self-serving and superior condescension toward minorities. Listen closely and you will reveal this condescension. When Joe Biden referred to Obama as "Clean and articulate." When Harry Reid said thought he was praising Obama by saying, "He has no negro dialect." These were expressions of racism cloaked in benign intent.

These liberal drip with their self-superior racism.

It is not racist to hold a Black President to the same standards as you do whites. In fact the racism comes in from the left when the leftist media gives Obama a pass and grades him on a curve for no other reason than that this President happens to be Black. As if Obama needs their lilly white hands to help him along, like some slow child who cannot make in school without them. Condescension and coddling, looking the other way, and not demanding he be held up to the same standards as others is not respect, and it is not support. It a subtle, and often not-so-subtle form of racism.

For liberals, if you believe in Barack Obama, then vet him with the same equal intensity you would anyone else. Ask him same same questions and demand full and truthful answers. The media actually disrespects him by covering for him.
