Nicole I read your God thing: it was amazing and totally mirrored my God thing too- what is it about God things that rob one of chill?

Speaking of A Life Less Chilled, I recently watched the Invictus Games coverage and if ever there was a sporting event made to break people's hearts open and scrape their insides out with blunt spoons it was that one. Amazing ex-service people? Doing sports things? Occasionally accompanied by animals? Chill left me and was never seen again.

I have taken from the New Scientist all the proof I have ever needed that the missing Entwives are alive and well somewhere...they just fell asleep and forgot to go back / send word to the Ents.

I didn't know what the thing in the picture was, but a guy at work who I'd previously not really paid attention to saw this post over my shoulder and just said "Huh. Sextant." then went back to whatever he was doing and I swear to God I've already planned our wedding? I'm thinking July.

This "Um, well okay. Here goes. My dad wrote the lime in the coconut song." lead to Overwhelming Dad Envy.

Although mine played Fela every morning as he drove us to school, singing along and drumming on the steering wheel. As a result, the first song I learned all the way through was Fela's Lady- "If you call am woman/ African woman no go gree/ she go say/she go say "I be lady o!" which I think is a good sort of song to learn at a young age.

Whenever I am faced with outrageous behaviour I am not witty enough to counter with one perfectly thought out remark I channel Mary's arched brow. I don't know if it works but it makes me feel so much better. Mary4Ever.

had already commented above on his chicken/tomato grossness before seeing this- I AM SO PLEASED I AM NOT ALONE. Perhaps book Denethor was the height of elegance when eating but Film Denethor needs to be thrown into the sea if only for his atrocious table manners.

yes, it's also the 'healing hands' which although not properly explained are said to be the mark of the rightful king. If I was a Gondorian, and I was given a vote, I'd prefer a king who could heal me with his hands than one who digustingly eats chicken and cherry tomatoes whilst forcing Hobbits to sing for him.
