So what issues should drive us to vote? The economy? Foreign policy? If I could pick 100 topics that shouldn't mobilize us to vote abortion wouldn't even make the list. There are so many other worthwhile things to pick at than this. Abortion is a symptom of a deeper/underlying heart issue in our country. We no longer love others like we should. We no longer value life as God calls us to value it. You can legislate all day long but it won't fix the heart of this nation.

The bigger question is this, should you vote for someone whose heart so undervalues human life that they treat a piece of trash and a baby the same, objects to be incenerated (which is what they do with aborted babies). I don't want to vote for someone who sees things that way.

This is really hard to put into words. Death is the natural result of a world full of sin (Rom 6:23). Life is the result of a loving, creative and merciful God who is in the business of (as N.T. Wright would say) setting things right and making all things new (Rev 21:5). God gives us example after example in scripture where death does not get the final say. That doesn't make it any less real in the mean time but there is one who is greater than death who in the end, catch this, will even judge death and Hades itself - Rev 20:14 "Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. The lake of fire is the second death." I am not sure why we don't point out that verse and 1 Cor 15:54-58 and the language of death as an enemy and the victory of God, specifically over death, more often.

When my wife and I had a miscarriage I asked some similar questions...I agree about the getting angry part. I think God is just as angry about some of these things as we are. That is why it says in 1 Cor 15 that the last enemy to be defeated is death. Death is defeated and death is an enemy to God's creation. So when we get angry about death, we get angry about something God is angry about. That means we agree with God on the matter. Christianity has all but made death our friend...just a simple passageway from one thing to the next. There is more to it than that. Death is more insidious than that. Revelation says Christ holds the keys to death...in the end, God gets his way and redeems and restores it all. That is all so very hopeful! You are in my prayers brother.

Praying for you and that God will work in marvelous ways. God is good. Thank you for your example as well.

If I apply the old hermeneutic to your list of rules in the poll I don't see anything that would keep someone from voting MORE than twice for the same blog. You did say to keep it to five blogs but refer back to the rule that says don't vote twice means I could vote an unlimited amount of times for those 5 blogs just as long as I don't vote only twice. But all this hinges on readers of this blog still using CENI...

An no, it wasn't me!

Now we can see the whole list to vote but cannot see the whole lists when it comes to the results :)
