I've read a few of your unread books and I loved My Antonia, though it's been years since I read it. I hope you enjoy it!

I'm looking forward to Virgil Wander! My library doesn't have it and I have to wait until it's been out for a year before I order it through InterLibrary Loan... though I suppose the audiobook is a possibility.

I would love the accountability of reading through this with you (especially since I've been meaning to read CM for years), but I have too many deadlines (reading and writing) this month. I think I ought to plan on reading volume one in the fall.

Looking forward to checking back often to read your thoughts!

I'm glad you mentioned that book because I've read a few other picture books about the residential schools and am planning to write a blog post about them soon. As Long as the Rivers Flow is at my local library, so I should be able to pick it up this week. Thanks!

Glad to hear that you liked The One-in-a-Million Boy. I am eagerly waiting for it from the library, but there are a lot of people in line!

My "want to read" list on Goodreads keeps on growing! Right now I am reading Vex, Hex, Smash, Smooch: Let Verbs Power Your Writing, which is fascinating if you're interested in the history of language. Next up is Brown Girl Dreaming, which is a verse novel (memoir?) I've heard so much about. Both are due back at the library next week with loads of people waiting. This month I'm also hoping to try out a new Victorian mystery series; the first book is called A Curious Beginning. And I need to read Sense and Sensibility for a Skype book club with my sister and cousin.

Last year I read a very interesting biography of C.S. Lewis's wife called Joy by Abigail Santamaria.

Thanks, Nelleke! We've ready three of the Little House books, Winnie the Pooh, and Pinocchio. I think I'll try Charlotte's Web and Cricket in Times Square. By the way, have you read anything by Natalie Savage Carlson? My kids enjoyed The Happy Orpheline and A Brother for the Orphelines. (You don't have to keep replying to these comments if you're busy!)

Good to know. Thank you, Nelleke. If you know any chapter books that you think a four year old would enjoy listening to, can you let me know? (Sometimes I get tired of reading piles and piles of picture books!)

I also really enjoyed Garlic and Sapphires. I haven't read Caddie Woodlawn in many, many years, but it is a great one! (When do you think my girls will be old enough to listen to it read aloud?)
