My mother: I think your chickens are eating a bird!
I went outside, only to find that my chickens were pecking at a dead chicken's *head*. That had been dropped by a fox, presumably. I picked it up with a trowel and buried it.
I don't have a picture of it because that was 2005, pre-easily accessible camera, but that would have performed a similar function. Plus the added cannibalism factor!

I was very confused by this comment because "stuffed animal" here tends to mean "taxidermied animal" and for a minute I thought that your horrifying roommate had gotten a taxidermied possum with glass eyes and everything and put it in various places for you to find. Then I worked out that you were talking about a soft toy. Well at least your roommate isn't full Norman Bates, that's something.

Australian possums are Ok looking but they're extra annoying because they eat all of your vegetables and the tops of your trees and your flower buds, and make horrendous noises and thump on your roof. Australian possum, but I found one that had been split open at the abdomen and gutted by *something*. It was sort of decomposing so it took a while to work out if it was a possum or a cat.That said, ours don't play dead.

I've had to bury my own fox-eaten mangled pets so roadkill would almost be a delight in comparison :(

Bugger's a REALLY OLD term, and it used to be a legal term - they called laws against anal sex "buggery laws" in Britain.
