An X-Files post in the last week of the Toast. I couldn't ask for more.

Even to an atheist, Mulder is truly infuriating in religiously themed episodes. "I'll believe literally everything everyone tells me! Except for your deeply held beliefs, Scully. Those are obviously silly and I won't even consider them." Mulder's like a hipster who won't admit to liking anything too well-known. "Christianity? So mainstream. Have you heard of sewer mutants though?"

I feel like that happens with a lot of "dating life" kind of memoirs and it annoys me. I don't want a happily ever after! There are a million stories with that kind of ending out there already. I want to hear about dating or non-dating adventures and I want an ending where it's okay to still be single. I've read books with that message but when the conclusion is that now they've got a boyfriend, I don't feel inspired or anything. I feel annoyed that it's another book where the happy ending is meeting a man.
