I concur with Modupe: go for what you want the experience for your customers to be. For me, I love not having to bug businesses with simple questions about a basic quote by using an online tool/template they have but on the other hand I love businesses that offer highly responsive feedback on questions for those times my project is a bit more complex than what fits in their online calculator tool or template.
