I ordered something over the weekend from the sale and I expect the cancelation notice any time now. Sigh.

All of these horror stories make me reluctant to want to purchase anything again from Anthro's online store. I think reporting them to the BBB and your state's consumer agency might be in order if they are playing this "you're banned because we screwed up" game. That might get the head honchos' attention.

I love the floral denim skirt and I'm surprised that open peplum blazer is $98 instead of $298.

Got the green velvet flats. At $68 + 20% off and free shipping, it was a pretty good deal.

Last month I discovered & Other Stories. European style, not too bad prices, pretty good sales. I also love Boden, Madewell (better than its parent company if you ask me), WHBM, and my old standby Zara.

1. Muppet pimp coat

2. Wookiee fur turned into a football-themed jacket

3. Mom's '70s macrame project turned into a garment

I rolled into Anthro last weekend to see if I could use my birthday month 15% off coupon, not expecting much. And the first time in a long time, I ended up dropping $180 on this:

And on this:

There were a couple of other things that caught my eye. It's been ages since that happened.

Those Jeffrey Campbell shoes! And that flared sleeve blazer! I even love the Time Traveler top.

I've shopped at Zara for over 20 years. One of the genius things they do in-store is they will put on display an entire outfit on the same racks. You've got the blouse or dress, a jacket, pants, matching shoes, and matching bags all right there so the shopper never says to herself, "What the hell would I wear with that?" Better yet, the shopper thinks, "Why not take the whole wad?"

Brick and mortar retail is getting its butt kicked all around, except for the discounters. But there's something with these guys that they don't get it.

If you're the kind of person who routinely spends $300 per order, then this plan for free shipping sounds great but I don't spend that much (generally I can't afford to), so I got to pay through the nose to subsidize the spendy-spenders.
