Your sons' faces are priceless!! I'd try one of these races- if only because it'd be a novelty compared to the volume & intensity I'm putting in now, but I'd kind of like the option to "skip out" on the rest of the ice cream once I've had my fill...

Love the photos! Sounds like a lot of fun! I did Bike the Drive this year and that seems like it was a bit faster if that's what you & Jason are looking for (but not quite as picturesque as this tour!) I also am signing up for Venus de Miles out in the North suburbs, and expect that to be a bit faster than this, at least based on reviews of their colorado events.

I have enjoyed the few cemetary runs I've done. I've never lived close enough to one to make it part of a regular route, but it's certainly an interestingly peaceful experience! And good to get away from your normal traffic in the city.

Congratulations on the participation award! I'm considering trying to go for that myself this year! Regarding the prize -they are opening a CAC up near me, so if you don't have other people interested in it, I'd love to use it! I was planning to see what spring membership specials they were going to have at the WPAC!

I signed up for Chicago - it was my first and this will be my 2nd time doing it (w/ 3 others in between those 5 years). I chose it as it's the local race, and why not! I'm looking forward to the camaraderie of training w/ others and going through all of the pre-race activities w/ other Chicagoans!
