Too funny. Even funnier? The people on other sites linking to this who don't get it's a joke, pointing out the very real danger of not clicking links and actually READING the original post.

Do what works for you. The minute you feel blogging has become a chore, an obligation, well, that's the time to give it the finger. In other words, yes, heart barfing is what it's really all about.

The people who care about you will be there for you wherever you choose to be--you know?

That's a very succinct summary of her post!

Thank you. I've learned that some times I've just got to disengage, not read certain things, or if I have, just let it go, let go the need to right-fight. The first two years of blogging, I had to deal with ulcers--between the online stuff and trying to balance parenting, teaching, and going to school, along with family health crises, I was seriously stressed. Letting go of anger and the need to be right and to respond to everything has made a huge difference in my life. I wonder if other members of our community who are attacked for their positions were not routinely slammed, if they might not feel better, too.

On a related note, I was at an IEP meeting for my youngest today, and I got the chance to watch her interact with her classmates. She's been at the school and with her classmates for four years, and she was interacting with several girls, and I realized that her comfort with the school and the people, the familiarity she had, had bred confidence and competence. When we are comfortable and know we have nothing to fear, we do better. It was a heck of a lesson for me today. If people feel comfortable to express their realities and know that they will be accepted rather than attacked and rejected, then they'll do better. How simple and what we're all working for: acceptance and doing our best. :)

Happy New Year. :)

My goal for this year is no unnecessary drama and to avoid unhelpful conflicts. Sometimes, it's worth engaging, but other times, it's better just to ignore those trying to create drama and conflict. Trying to decide which way to go can be tricky!
