This is a really great post, Amanda. As someone who studies and teaches about relationships, I completely understand and agree with you on the importance of setting goals and living healthy as a couple. Not only does it create a supportive and encouraging environment for both people involved, it can bring people closer together and rekindle the relationship. I can be difficult when one person wants to make changes and one person does not. I know a lot of people who have drifted apart for this reason.

That is AWESOME that you are going to be riding across country to raise money for cancer. I live in Central Oregon and grew up on a bike. Portland will be a great place to finish. Can't wait to follow you on your journey and cheer you on!

Which triathlon are you thinking of doing? I am getting ready to sign up for my first and am nervous about hitting that "submit payment" button. Once you commit the $$ there is no going back (too expensive!). I make decisions by giving it time, being patient, and talking with others. I find the more I talk about things, the more decisive I become.

I definitely do not agree with their criteria of "fitness snob." To me, a fitness snob is someone who looks down on others and judges people who do not work out or who do not work out to his or her standards. I think the word snob is earned through one's personality, not by what they wear or do.

Peace is a beautiful word for 2014. My one word would be confident - to have more confidence in myself and my abilities - and to remain positive and optimistic in the midst of failure.
