Besides, if you're having spacing issues, just use the neighbour's house. Always worked for me. They keep getting arrested, though. I have no idea why.

I watch as the world around me falls.
I watch as ponies scramble for their tools of emancipation from this... most heinous of incidents.
I watch as, one by one, they propel themselves from their homes, clutching at split ends, frayed weaves, and the inability to cover their bald spots adequately.
I watch as, one by one, they struggle to matte down, spike up, or simply just get under control.
With water.
Water.
And not even a comb in sight.
Ah, you foolish few, cantering around in the day with your talk and your casual goings-on.
But I warned you, didn't I? I said this day would come.
I told as many ponies as I could last week, but not a single one of you listened.
I knew that this week.
This week.
It would be dry.
Oh, I pity you.
Look, Rainbow Dash in the corner, trying to fly it off. My dear, do you think mere speed can battle the forces of the universe upon your ragged remains of a mane?
And Fluttershy, dear sweet Fluttershy, I had no idea you were interested in glam rock.
And all of the rest, too, one by one, they come, crying in their masses and tearing out whatever pittance they have left in frustration.
And maybe... maybe that would be an improvement.
But no.
Even though, I stand here, at the top of my house, staring down and, shall I even say... laughing, at these disgusting rejects from the taxidermy stylist, I must...
I must remain humble.
For their sake.
For they come to me, knowing that only I alone in this town, can save them.
And it is a burden thrust upon me by languished hooves.
And did I... escape... the calamity?
Well, of course I did.
My name... is Rarity.
And my mane... is perfect.
