OMG this post is so full of emotion (and puke) that it made me tear up a little. WELL DONE, YOU! I cannot WAIT to read this novel and I am sososososo happy for you. I would like to think it's all that much sweeter after so much bitter/sour/puke/nasty stuff, so your success is not only AWESOME but also gives me hope. Thank you for sharing! *hugs*

Yippee! The Blueboard is such a wonderful, positive place full of valuable information. I've learned so much there. Thanks for all you do, Verla (and Literaticat)!

Ooooh, Meradeth. I've had moments where I had to put it away for a while, but yeah, the courage/insanity (hee) for actually hitting delete hadn't occurred to me. Wow.

I've found that now after 9 years of writing I've reached the point where I don't think i can give up. Sometimes for a day or week, I push it aside, yes, but I keep thinking of the "fail again, fail better" quote. Or every once in a while that ready-to-give-up-before-his-smashing-success Jay Asher post on the Blue Board is worth a read.

Anyway, having read your work, I am SO GLAD you came back to it. :-)

Wow, that is an amazing find! I can't imagine what living in a space like that must have been like, but it sure sounds like a great creative space. I just visited Orchard House (Louisa May Alcott's house) last week, and there were these drawings all over the place by her little sister (Amy in the book). What a great inspiration for your writing room. We're looking for a house now, so basement-writing-room needs to get added to the list!

Kristen! I just now saw this news, and I'm flabbergasted. I can just tell from the way you tweet that you are a fantastic writer, so I for one am so glad that you're deep into your current WIP, because that one will probably end up as your first pubbed book instead. Then, like some of the other posters said, maybe the world will be ready for the previous one. :-) Thank you so much for sharing this. I love your snarktastic attitude and can't wait to hold your books in my hands. The day will come!

You are making me feel so lucky right now. Though I have twin toddlers who are a couple of handfuls, they are not babies! I actually get a good 3-4 hours a day to read or write, in between waking up an hour before the kids, their naptime, and an hour after they go to bed.
A lucky twin thing is that they have each other, so they do play together at times (like now) so I can read and write other snippets. Blogs are such good snippets. :-)
