I love this post and it makes me a bit sad that there are not more comments here! I can only add Amen! We have been married for over 20 years, and are now empty nesters to our Only Girlie. Having an Only makes things harder in different ways but I remember the exhausted years and the not wanting anyone else to hang on me years and the there are way too many hormones in this household year(s)... and still - we made the connection of sexual intimacy a priority through out (most) of those times because we know that we are called to be one flesh and that we are better together than we are apart! Sex is such a gift, and one that we joke about most likely not being able to enjoy in Heaven. In fact, it may be the one gift that God gives us here, just for here. We may as well enjoy it as often as we can while we are here, yes? (Here's a tip - that you may love or hate, but the ironic thing is one of the best things for a headache? Yep... you guessed it! Sorry ladies, but it's true!) ;)

How fun! We are new empty nesters - but my hubby is a jazz guitarist and I am sure he would have loved having this music for our kids... maybe in the future for our (far far off in the future!) grands!? Great post!

Hey my friend... I love this photo and the story behind it - I love that you are willing to share it here... to be real and vulnerable and give us civilians a glimpse into a world that we cannot know and rarely consider... I echo what others have said here... a whispered prayer and a loud shout - a Thanks and a renewed awareness of just how much is sacrificed! So glad you were able to reconnect and spend time together and that your plans were His plans and the timing all worked out! The beginning of the life of Family is captured behind the scenes there! Love this!

I love this... I love that he still managed to give you a proposal that caught you off guard! I don't really have a proposal story either... not in the classic "Here I bought this ring, will you marry me" sort of way... but God has revealed His hand in weaving our stories together through out our lives in this small town here and really, it was just a matter of time!
