Glad to hear you are healing and back at it! It's such a long road to recovery (I know having been through leg surgery), but hopefully you'll bounce back stronger than before. I know I did!

Incredible!! I once saw someone air lifted in much the same way from a ski slope. That had to be terrifying/thrilling. Hope your ankle is doing OK now!

I have a few pairs of compression sleeves and compression socks from a few different brands. Love them! I tend to prefer socks, but unlike you I prefer a narrow toe band. When it's too wide for me, the edges roll under and cause blisters. Which is where the sleeves are great, because I can wear socks I KNOW work for me.

Thanks again for pacing me! Wow, we look really sweaty in that photo! No wonder it wasn't mean to be :)

Baby cows? Adorbs! I'm a sucker for farm animals.

I'm sure you'll really enjoy it and take it all in. Like you said, it will be very different than racing, though I'm usually the same way on the bike. I have no concept of pacing and just go as hard as I can!

Wow, this sounds incredible! What an adventure to set out on. I hope you plan to blog a bit from the road. It would be fun to follow along!

Whoa! You CRUSHED it! Congratulations! I find 10Ks really hard to race--I can't just gut them out like a 5K, but can't settle into a pace like a half. Way to rock it! BTW I nominated you for a Liebster Award :) http://www.runkarlarun.com/2014/04/27/liebster-aw...
