Hi Karen,

Your post made me cry. This is the path my mother walked with my brother. When he got too big, too aggressive, too angry, too dangerous she had to make a decision between her two children. Who could she protect? How does a mother make that choice? Neither she or I were safe any longer. He attacked me once too often and when it took a grown adult man to get him to stop hitting her, she had to make a very difficult decision. It pains her to this day, but he was moved out of the house, with the support of social services at 18 years old.

Pull your supports close. Lean on your faith. Remember you are a good mom.

Thinking of you

Jodi

Thanks so much for this beautiful review. You are not the only one who really liked Julia's grandma. I've heard that a lot. She was such an important piece to this story and to Julia, that writing her was an absolute joy. I adore Tyler. He represents all the best in boys and men and his relationship with Annika is a picture of true, healthy love.
