Touching on the mention of "The Hunger Games", I think the one thing I would change about that series (other than the entirety of "Mockingjay") would be the point of view. Since we're seeing everything through Katniss' eyes, we know she lives. Some of the tension is lost and with it, some of the curiosity.

I'm actually plotting a story right now (you know...in my nonexistant spare time) and I never considered the possibility of using dreams. It was hammered into my head years ago that dreams are like crutches, revealing things to the main character when you can't fashion a means to reveal them otherwise. But if used sparingly, and with great care, they can be useful.

I think this may involve avoiding the internet. Might be the only way ;-)

Eagerly awaiting my owl. Trying to avoid spoilers until then (it's just like when I was reading the series for the first time - avoiding spoilers while maintaining a blog is an almost impossible task!)

Phew! That makes me feel a little better. I quickly polled my friends and family who happened to be within earshot (or email shot) and discovered NONE of them have received the letter yet. All of them registered on Day 3 or later.

My one concern is that perhaps they allowed more than 1 million people to register early and are going to pick people from that list, like a lottery system. This will make me angrier than Snape getting turned down for the DADA position over and over again.

I'm a little bit concerned. I didn't receive this second confirmation E-Mail.

Of course, I got the first. Even tested my name by logging in back when the sign-in was available. Still worried, though.

I was wondering the same thing. I'd imagine it's mostly to keep imagery from the site from leaking before everyone has access. Most websites have similar agreements. The question is how much they will uphold it.

You're seeing the same uptick in Ravenclaw supporters that I am seeing on the poll in my blog. I think there's really something to be said for the types of folks who enjoy analyzing literature. I'd love to see all of us who want to be in Ravenclaw get in, but I'm a bit afraid I may end somewhere else (pleasenohufflepuffpleasenohufflepuff)

If they allow us into Pottermore in the order we signed up, you'll probably be one of the first to arrive!

The part of "Deathly Hallows" that sat funny with me when I first read it was the whole bit about the Elder Wand and its allegiance to Harry.

I have to re-read Book 7 before I go into detail, because I don't trust my memory. By that point, it was late at night and I had been frantically reading to find out what happens. My mind was awash with hatred (and subsequent love) of Dumbledore, pity for Snape and excitement for properly judging his character, adoration of Neville, sadness for the Weasleys, and the sinking feeling my roommates knew I was wimpering in my room over a Harry Potter book.

But I don't think the Elder Wand allegiance works out. If anything, I think there are some obvious loop holes.
