This is such an awesome list! I strive to teach my girls these kinds of things in preparing for their future. It clearly spells out a servant's heart by putting the needs of others before our own and expecting nothing in return. There is so much joy in this kind of living and is the heart of our Lord.
I have realized a few times that I've been softer on my youngest so I know that's easy to do. I've had to step it up and train her better in certain areas. As you said, I pray the Bates' parents realize this too! It definitely takes time and effort to train {as I know they know}, but it saves so much time and energy in the future when you have well-behaved children.
I am Baptist and certainly don't believe in a formula to save my kids. :) All the power and glory goes to our God who seeks those that are lost. He was looking for me, when I wasn't looking for Him.
I have found Michael Pearl's child-rearing advice so very helpful. I have read this article before but it's been a while. Thanks for the reminder!
Amen Lori! I don't know the future, but I'm so thankful I can trust my heavenly Father!
I did notice a difference in how men treated me with more respect when I started wearing skirts all the time at 17. I also have more people stop me and ask me about my religious views, which gives me the opportunity to be a witness and a light in this ever increasing darkening world. Most importantly though is that it is what God laid on my heart and I made the decision in obedience to Him. The way we dress does not make us better or holier than others {whether pants or skirts}, but each must seek God for His will.
I just cry for you dear lady. I am so sorry you have suffered in this way. May God be very near you as only He can.
Look forward to the series!
I appreciate you so much Lori! Thank you for writing on topics like this. May more women realize God's call to be shamefaced.
Very true about living to please the Lord and not pass judgment on those that don't believe the exact same. That is the mindset we should all strive for!
